World SB3 Championships

As part of the Cascais Portugal Vela 2009, the Estoril Coast hosts the world Laser SB3 class championships.

This competition will bring around 60 boats and 240 mariners to Estoril from 8 countries, taking part in the fastest growing sailing class in the world.

The excellent conditions at Cascais Bay, technical know how of its academy and facilities on land combined with a full social calendar will no doubt offer a great event for all sailing fans, competitors and public alike, for this one of the most spectacular sailing events in the 20099 calendar.

August 28 to September 4, regattas from August 31 at 1pm, Cascais Bay.

Classe SB3

Designed by Tony Castro (Portuguese naval architect in UK) the SB3 is a “Sport Boat” with hull for 3 crew. This 6,20m boat with sail of up to 45,3m2 has a modern and powerful design capable of impressive performance both with light and strong winds. The SB3 is the fastest growing sailing class in the whole world – with a fleet of more than 500 boats worldwideattracting the top mariners.

10.º Open Costa do Estoril | 9.º Quebramar |ChryslerThe 10th Estoril Coast Sailing Open & Quebramar | Chrysler Trophy will attract from August 26 to 29 on the Estoril Coast the leading GP42 yachts, known as the favourite of the cruise class boats.

The 2008 trophy of this competition, regarded as one of the most important international sailing events, featured the participation of more than 500 mariners who competed for the title of Iberian Cruise Class Champion. August 26 to 29, Cascais Bay.
