Cascais Dragon Winter Series

Cascais Dragon Winter SeriesFrom January to March, the waters of  Cascais Bay will be dotted with the well known Dragon class crews competing for  the last three series of the competitive light sailing winter event, the Cascais Dragon Winter Series 2010.

The tournament's fourth series will be held from January 29 to 31, with great expectations for the 5th and 6th series, when the popular Prince Henry and S. A. R. Rey Juan Carlos trophies will be held. Counting for the Iberian Championships, the 17th Prince henry the Navigator trophy will be held from February 25 to 28, challenging the skills of the very best crews. From March 11 to 14, the 15th S. A. R. Rey Juan Carlos trophy will be held, as part of the IDA - International Dragon Association calendar.

This event was created in 1997, when His Majesty, King Juan Carlos gave a trophy to Cascais Naval Club, as a tribute to the place where he learnt to sail. Cascais Dragon Winter Series 2010 attracts the best known crews in this class, including Patrick Monteiro de Barros, Ricardo Salgado, Francisco Lacerda and José Mattoso, as well as international crews and winners of the Olympic, Euopean and world competitions (England, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Sweden).
